Florida Man allegedly steals a friend's rare coin collection, then cashes it in for a fraction of a percent of its value.
A 40-year-old Riviera Beach man was charged with grand theft after investigators said he stole a friend's collection of commemorative presidential dollar coins, worth roughly $33,000, along with other items totaling $350,000. He reportedly sold some coins to a pawn shop for a few thousand dollars, then ran the rest through Coinstar change machines at grocery stores, which paid out only face value, leaving him with about $30.
