Florida Man allegedly steals thousands of dollars in steaks from two Publix stores, then throws the whole haul away after finding his girlfriend cooking with someone else.

Flagler County deputies say 30-year-old Heannys O. Alvarez Reyna hit two Palm Coast Publix stores within twenty minutes on the evening of January 5, 2026, filling his backpack with premium beef, lamb, and pork before walking out without paying. Surveillance video captured him lifting $1,574.86 in steaks and lamb from the Belle Terre Crossings Publix around 7:43 p.m., then $2,084 more in pork, top sirloin, brisket, and tenderloin from the Island Walk Publix minutes later. Deputies say he told them he'd planned to bring the meat to his girlfriend's house, but when he got there and found her cooking with another man, he dumped the whole haul instead. Alvarez Reyna was booked on felony retail theft charges and held on a $5,000 bond, plus an ICE detainer.
