A Florida man tries to beat a court-ordered drug test with a homemade fake urine device before it falls out in the back of a patrol car.
James Shepard, 52, allegedly rigged a fake bladder filled with synthetic urine to a heating pad and a prosthetic penis in an attempt to pass a court-ordered drug test. After deputies moved his handcuffs to the front over a claimed shoulder injury, the device came loose and Shepard tossed it onto the patrol car floor, then denied it was his, even though an in-car camera recorded the whole thing. He was arrested on July 14, 2026 and charged with defrauding a drug test, tampering with evidence, driving with a suspended license, and violating probation. Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said Shepard, already on community control for prior burglaries and thefts, had been given 'the deal of a lifetime.'
