A Florida man takes off his clothes in the middle of a HomeGoods store and tells police his clothing and bike had started smoking.

Billy Thomas, 43, allegedly walked down an aisle at a Cape Coral HomeGoods, told a nearby witness 'I'm sorry, I have to do this,' and dropped his pants, exposing himself to shoppers and an employee. Officers found him nearby with his shoes and boxer briefs left behind at the store entrance, and he told them his clothes had started smoking and that his bicycle was smoking too, though no bicycle was ever located. A witness and a store employee identified him, and he was arrested on September 7, 2026 and charged with indecent exposure.
