A Florida man allegedly spins his Corvette in circles in a church parking lot to impress a first date, and ends the night in handcuffs instead.
Charlotte County deputies arrested 28-year-old Landon Morris on the night of Saturday, January 10, 2026, after witnesses reported a gray Corvette spinning donuts at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Gulf Coast Boulevard in Englewood, sending up thick blue tire smoke and leaving heavy skid marks across the lot. Morris told deputies he'd driven from Orlando to meet a woman from Rotonda West for their first date, and his passenger admitted she'd asked him to do the donuts to impress her, apologizing to deputies for the stunt. Morris was arrested and charged with racing.
