Florida Man allegedly shows a deputy an AI-generated deepfake video to file a fabricated crime report.
Seminole County deputies say 22-year-old Alexis Martínez-Arizala approached an off-duty deputy at an Academy Sports in Lake Mary on March 24, 2026, and showed him a three-second AI-generated video claiming to show two men breaking into his patrol car. The deputy grew suspicious after noticing the fake video's patrol car was missing 'Seminole Sheriff' markings and its rear door opened and closed on its own, and store surveillance confirmed no one had actually approached the vehicle. Investigators say Martínez-Arizala fabricated the video and report in an attempt to go viral on social media; he was arrested weeks later in Puerto Rico and charged with fabricating physical evidence, filing a false police report, and giving false information to law enforcement.
