A Palm Coast convenience store manager scans and cashes in over $6,500 worth of lottery tickets a coworker printed by mistake, spending some of the winnings on more scratch-offs.
Leandra Tarpley, 31, an assistant manager at a Palm Coast Circle K, allegedly kept a batch of ten lottery tickets a coworker had accidentally printed instead of turning them in, scanning them herself, collecting the winnings, and using part of the payout to buy more scratch-off tickets while pocketing the rest. Flagler County deputies said surveillance video and lottery records contradicted her initial claim that she had only received free tickets, and she was arrested on September 17, 2026 on a grand theft charge after taking more than $6,500 total. Sheriff Rick Staly summed up her outcome: 'Now, the only thing she won was a trip to the Green Roof Inn.'
