Florida Man leads deputies on a low-speed chase atop a stolen Walmart electric scooter.
Troyson Raymond, 35, allegedly shoplifted jewelry and handheld games from a Lakeland Walmart on July 17, 2024, then grabbed one of the store's electric scooters as his getaway vehicle. Deputies pursued him along U.S. 98 as the chase topped out around 2 mph before he rolled to a stop in front of a Dunkin'. The Polk County Sheriff's Office said it 'avoided the temptation' to add a fleeing-to-elude charge given the speed involved; Raymond was booked on felony petit theft, grand theft, and unlawful possession of a shopping cart.
