Content note
This incident involved a real near-fatal drug overdose: there is no comedic angle here.
A Florida woman using the pseudonym 'Nala' on a dating app allegedly laced her older match's drink with benzodiazepine after an argument over a car he'd bought her.
Samantha Adams, 39, of Orlando, met a 69-year-old man from Haines City on a dating app while using the pseudonym 'Nala,' authorities said. After the two got into an argument about a car he had apparently purchased for her, Adams allegedly intentionally laced his drink with benzodiazepine. The victim later passed out and was hospitalized, where medical staff determined he had nearly overdosed on benzodiazepine, a drug he had not been prescribed. Adams was arrested on August 27, 2026, at the Posner Park Shopping Center in Davenport and charged with second-degree attempted murder, tampering with evidence, and possession of oxycodone, hydrocodone, and alprazolam.
