An unidentified driver tears up 7,000 square feet of turf doing donuts on a New Smyrna Beach golf course's putting green overnight, causing more than $150,000 in damage.
Someone drove a pickup truck onto the second hole putting green at The Club at Venetian Bay in New Smyrna Beach around 3:30 a.m. on October 20, 2025, and spun circular tire skids across the turf. An employee estimated the stunt tore up roughly 7,000 square feet of grass, and the club said repairs would cost more than $150,000 on top of lost revenue while the hole is out of play. A witness saw a truck leaving the area from a distance but could not provide a description, and New Smyrna Beach police are asking the public for tips.
