Florida Man dressed as Superman allegedly admits to breaking into a boat cabin and stealing power tools when deputies catch up with him.
A Ruskin boat owner discovered someone had broken into the cabin of their vessel, anchored just behind their home, and made off with several power tools on July 25, 2026. Investigators quickly identified 57-year-old James Tidwell, a convicted felon, and found him wearing a red-and-blue Superman-themed beach coverup, cape included, when they arrived. Body camera video shows Tidwell gesturing toward a nearby boat and admitting he 'only took three items' when deputies mentioned the burglary. He was charged with burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and first-degree petit theft, and was released after posting a $5,500 bond.
